Dubai Future Academy welcomed 50 participants between the age of 12 and 16 in the second edition of its annual Robotics and 3D Printing Summer Camp.

With the aim of training participants on designing and building robots and prototypes using 3D printing technology, the summer camp held at the Office of the Future included a number of sessions and workshops that engaged and inspired participants.

Khalfan Balhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, met with the participant in an inspiring interactive session on what are the key attributes that make a successful leader. Participants also learned about Dubai Future Foundation’s projects and initiatives and had the opportunity to meet with a group of officials, experts, and specialists‏.

Participants were split into two batches, and each batch was tasked with implementing a set of joint projects where they presented their work to a panel to evaluate outcomes. Winners were awarded robotic gears, and all participants were given smart-watches, and 3D printed medals.

Saeed Al Gergawi, Director of the Dubai Future Academy, said: “Empowering the youth and enhancing their skills in Robotics and 3D printing supports the vision our leadership to strengthen the UAE’s role in shaping the future.”

“The summer camps are part of the academy’s mission to provide members of the community a variety of training programs to keep them abreast with the rapid changes in the vital sectors of the future.” Al Gergawi added.

Dubai Future Academy, one of Dubai Future Foundation initiatives, was launched in 2017 under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide future leaders with the necessary skills to keep abreast of future developments.
