Commvault To Showcase Data Readiness For Smart Cities At GITEX 2019 admin September 29, 2019

Commvault, a recognized global leader in data management, will showcase the future of data protection, data analytics and storage for the development of smart cities at GITEX 2019.

Global Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Vice President of Commvault, Brian Brockway will take part in a panel discussion on the transformation of cities in the fourth industrial revolution at GITEX. The session will assess how AI is expected to contribute in adding more than $50 trillion to the world economy by 2050. It will analyze the importance of driving trust, innovation, skills and profits while embracing the digital economy and creating a smarter and more connected society.

The panel session will take place on 07 October at Dubai World Trade Center.

Brockway will highlight how the digitization journey, driven by the explosion of data that will be generated by applications and devices within new smart city developments, must be managed responsibly and economically. He will also discuss the importance of using data analytics to drive business strategy and competitive advantage, which led to Commvault being top ranked in the Current Offering category, as well as in the Data Sources and Manageability criteriain in recently published Forrester Wave™: Data Resiliency Solutions, Q3 2019 report.

Brockway commented: “The increased automation and integration of technology with daily human activity in smart cities across the world is driving a massive explosion in data footprints and raises the criticality of needing to provide simple and economic, scale-out, data readiness solutions. Effective data management approaches in terms of speed, availability and security are essential in the development of smart cities both in the Middle East region and across the globe. Commvault is demonstrating new hybrid and multi-cloud solutions at this year’s GITEX, one of the most important regional technology events in the MENA region. We are looking forward to showcasing success stories of our customers that have implemented these solutions, as a result creating operational efficiencies and greater competitive advantage. GITEX will be an ideal opportunity to learn from key stakeholders in the industry and share best practices and expertise with both partners and customers.”

One key example of this type of implementation in the Middle East region includes Emirates Steel, which recently announced that it has deployed Commvault HyperScale to support its digitalization ambitions and safeguard its manufacturing operations. Commvault HyperScale and Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery protect hundreds of terabytes of data hosted across SAP systems, and including SQL databases, email archives and virtual machines.

Commvault also recently announced a bold and innovative step forward in its partner-first strategy with a new, global partner program that makes it easier and more profitable to do business with Commvault, while also announcing the first ever acquisition in Commvault’s history – with software-defined storage (SDS) innovator, Hedvig, on September 4.

Commvault operates across the Middle East region providing integrated solutions for data storage to customers in a range of areas, including Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality and Saudi Telecom Company (STC).
