Bahrain FinTech Bay’s global blockchain conference, BlockOn 2018 – Redefining Finance, gears up to train C-level executives, innovation leaders and developers in Blockchain theory and its practical application. The event is taking place on November 22nd, 2018 at the Wyndham Grand, Bahrain Bay under the patronage of H.E. The one day conference, which is expected to attract more than 300 global Blockchain innovators and professionals including a diverse group of regulators, entrepreneurs, investors and financial industry executives, aims to explore the rising opportunities and challenges presented by the industry with a heavy focus on training and development.
In addition to a series of panels, keynotes, fireside chats and roundtables addressing the impact of Blockchain on finance and other industries, BlockOn will feature learning opportunities for participants through a dedicated Business Track and Technical Track, which are now open for registration. Participants can sign on for workshops in one or both tracks to maximise the learning experience.
The Business Track is geared towards helping executives and innovation leaders gain sufficient knowledge and better understand what all the buzz around Blockchain is about. Participants will get a firm grasp on the core features of Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies and a look under the hood to understand how they work. Theory to be presented will cover: Basic Technical Blockchain Concepts (private keys and addresses, hashing, merkle trees, transactions, UTXO/state, mining and forks, Consensus Mechanisms (PoW, PoS, dPoS, BFT, PBFT) and Smart Contracts and their uses for business.
The Technical Track targets developers giving them first-hand experience in building a smart contract for financial services. Attendees can expect to walk out of the training having been immersed in Blockchain programming. Participants will learn how smart contracts and tokens are used to create digital assets such as bonds, credits, shares. The organiser encourages developers to also attend the theory session to first build a solid theoretical understanding to enhance the development process.
