du Presents Next Generation Of Blockchain Innovations To Drive UAE’s Digital Transformation Ambitions admin October 07, 2019

du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), is showcasing a trio of next generation blockchain solutions that are developed and delivered by du’s BPaas platform, at GITEX Technology Week 2019 in an effort to serve the UAE’s future challenges and opportunities.

Presenting visitors a glimpse into how formative blockchain technologies can revolutionise the social and economic progress of the country, du is hosting a range of solutions at its GITEX stand to bring the UAE Blockchain Strategy into fruition for a smarter, more enhanced UAE.

‘Unlocking Blockchain Excellence’

Marwan Bin Dalmook, Senior Vice President – ICT Solutions & Smart City Operations, du, said: “Embracing emerging technology is pertinent towards creating enriched, seamless, and convenient experiences in tomorrow’s smart city landscape. At du, technology enablement is in our DNA, which is why we are honoured to be optimising blockchain technology’s capabilities to fully innovate seamless digital experiences and solutions that will empower individuals, enterprises, and government entities on their pathways towards fulfilling the UAE’s knowledge-based journey and UAE Blockchain Vision.”

‘Empowering Future Talent

In alignment with the UAE paperless strategy, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and digital transformation vision, du has partnered with Accubits Technologies to further its support for the UAE’s future talent by showcasing a student-centric, blockchain-powered Student Passport Digitizing certificate solution. Allowing the authorized entity to assign a certificate template to a school for specific grade, the school automatically receives the certificate and assigns a grade and student batch, the solution is integrated with the school SIS system to automatically add the students’ marks, which will be validated and approved by the exam board. The certificate will then be published to a student portal enabling students to have a digital accomplishment passport with all their certificates chronologically displayed.

‘Banking on Blockchain’

du has announced a partnership with Avanza Innovations, an Avanza Group Company, to deliver an enterprise-to-enterprise solution enabling financial institutions to streamline the regulatory compliance, a blockchain based national platform for UAE banks to exchange documents and information securely within a trusted network.

As a national vehicle for exchange of documents between banks, the solution uses inherent properties of blockchain technology to keep Banks’ data secure, immutable and tamper proof. Only documents authorized by issuing bank and endorsed by the customer are accessible to the receiving bank or beneficiary through smart contracts.

In line with GDPR guidelines, zero knowledge proofs are incorporated in this solution to reveal only relevant information and proof of authenticity of a document as and when required.

‘Driving Industries & Government’

du’s renowned Blockchain Platform as a Service (BPaaS) solution is on display to provide GITEX Technology Week 2019 visitors a glimpse into how this formative technology can revolutionise industries and governments.

Through its partnership with ConsenSys, a leading blockchain solutions provider and venture production studio, du is building decentralized applications and offering an integrated set of solutions for client-centric blockchain ecosystems.

Throughout the GITEX demonstration, du’s BPaaS reveals how to create a shared environment for POCs, pilots, and production systems, including shared infrastructure, document management, micro services, core web apps, and platform monitoring.

The operator’s BPaaS supports public, private and consortium network types with multiple consensus algorithms. It does this by providing a developer-friendly GUI, allowing them to create a new network and quickly define participants’ nodes and accounts. In addition, it is easy to add and configure a new node to an existing BPaaS network.

To explore these and other innovations that are shaping the future of digital human experiences, visit du’s GITEX Technology Week stand in Zabeel Hall 2 stand C20.
