An artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Google has predicted what 10 jobs are safest and most at risk of being impacted by AI.

Google’s answer to the controversially popular chatbot, ChatGPT, Bard was released to the public on July 13 after a limited release in March 21.

The chatbot, when prompted by The Australian, predicted the jobs that will be most or least impacted by further developments in AI and gave reasons as to why.

‘It is important to note that this is not an exhaustive list, and the list of jobs that are at risk (or at least risk) of disappearing because of AI is likely to grow in the years to come,’ Bard wrote to complete the lists.

Bard believes jobs such as legal assistants will be affected as AI continues to grow and automation systems become more advanced at completing simple tasks.

A surprising addition was made to the list with truck drivers also under threat of losing their jobs as technology for self-driving trucks becomes more developed.

‘Self-driving trucks are already being developed and tested, and it is only a matter of time before they become widespread,’ Bard wrote on the potential future of truck drivers.

‘This could put millions of truck drivers out of work.’

The chatbot believes the job most at risk is data entry clerks due to the AI-powered software being able to automate many of the tasks performed in the role such as updating databases and entering customer information into a database.

Factory workers also make the list of most likely to be affected as AI-based software becomes more adept at utilising machinery – with its running costs considerably cheaper than human labour.

Other information processing jobs such as customer service, accountants, legal assistants and translators are also at risk according the the AI.
