Huawei has recently announced during a virtual event, the UAE winners of its 2020 edition of Huawei Developer Competition, a yearly contest held in the Middle East and Africa region. Among nine winners from various industries in the United Arab Emirates, Huawei has nominated the mobile app of Dubai Taxi Corporation in Dubai (DTC) as a winner of the “Gold Award.”
Since its integration within HUAWEI AppGallery in December 2020, Huawei has worked closely with the DTC team throughout the technical process to leverage the ride-hailing app’s full capabilities by integrating the core Huawei Mobile Services ecosystem. Many services are included, such as Huawei MAP (Locations Integrated Place search feature), Crash Kit, count Kit, and many more, thereby enabling an enhanced user experience. It’s a part of Huawei’s commitment to working closely with local entities to add innovative apps that meet the customer’s needs.
“We at DTC are extremely honored to be receiving such an award like HDC UAE Award. As we are earnestly grateful for the opportunity that we had to participate with our smart DTC App on Huawei platform, developed in respect to best practices and latest smart technology, the DTC App was the fruit of our journey towards achieving service excellence and shaping the future of our business and uplifting the experience of our customers in Dubai. Driven by customer happiness as an objective, we have made sure to develop an app that offers a simple and quick way to book or schedule a ride while ensuring it’s being affordable to most of the people”. Said Mansour Al Falasi, DTC-CEO.
“We are proud of great work we have done with DTC team to enhance the app experience for Huawei users. Huawei has built a reputation as a company that develops the most exciting technology to help consumers in their daily lives, and in this we see DTC as an important strategic partner. Our philosophy is to enable as many consumers as possible to experience this technology in a way that fits in with their lifestyles through a range of innovative products. Our current ecosystem of devices and services is already allowing users to do tasks efficiently, and together with local partners and developers, we aim to enhance the user experience with greater innovation.” said Keith Li, Huawei Consumer Business Group Country Manager – Unites Arab Emirates.
The Huawei Developer Competition has been created to incentivize existing or new developers in the region by awarding high-quality mobile applications built on the Huawei Mobile Services platform. It also puts developers at the heart of innovation by enabling them to use Huawei Mobile Services’ open capabilities to create new and unique experiences to benefit end-users in the region. The main selection criteria were based on the app’s popularity within the market, the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Core integration of the app, and the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Special Kit integration.
The competition has shown that Huawei puts the local partners such as DTC at the core of its strategy and fulfils Huawei’s vision on expanding its distribution platform, HUAWEI AppGallery, by integrating more relevant and high-quality innovative apps. As the Gold Award Winner, the Dubai Taxi Corporation app (DTC) and Huawei aim to strengthen their relationships and work closely in the future to incorporate more innovative technology to achieve a seamless experience for all scenarios with Huawei Ecosystem.
