An initiative to raise awareness about AI. A bill entirely written by an artificial intelligence tool has been adopted in Brazil, announced Wednesday, November 29, the municipal councilor who initiated the project.
“The first Brazilian law developed exclusively by artificial intelligence has come into force here in Porto Alegre”capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Ramiro Rosario of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB, center), a member of the city’s municipal council, said in a video.
Before revealing the true origin of the bill adopted in the municipal council of the city in southern Brazil, the elected official had until now presented himself as the author.

The text, which exempts citizens from paying for a new water meter in the event of theft, was unanimously approved in mid-October by the municipal councilors of Porto Alegre who were unaware of the use of artificial intelligence for its writing. The law came into effect on October 23 after receiving approval from the city’s mayor, Sebastiao Melo.
“We are raising a debate on the use of technology, of artificial intelligence, to improve the quality of public service in Brazil”explained to AFP Ramiro Rosario, 37, who said he was ” curious “ and interested in this field.
