Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Lauds Bahrain International Garden Show Outstanding Success admin February 27, 2018

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, H.E. Mr. Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, extended his sincere congratulations to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), on the outstanding success of the ‘Bahrain International Garden Show’, which was held between the 22nd and 25th of February 2018.

The ‘Bahrain International Garden Show’ that attracted over 50,000 visitors, an increase of 11% compared to the previous year, shed light on accurate agricultural practices that ensures safety and security of food and agricultural workers. Additionally, information regarding pre-harvest and post-harvest treatment methods and its effect on the quality of agricultural products was also presented during the show, urging farmers to adhere to proper practices to ensure food safety and environmental sustainability.

In addition, more than 160 exhibitors participated in the garden show including public institutions and civil society organizations, agricultural nurseries, as well as international companies specialized in the agricultural sector from the USA, France, Italy, Netherlands, Greece, UK, Japan, India, China, Indonesia, Turkey and Mali, in addition to regional and Arab countries such as KSA, UAE, Morocco, Jordan and Syria.

Since its establishment in 2004, Bahrain International Garden Show has become a platform for experts and enthusiasts to further develop their expertise and knowledge with the best practices in the industry. The show is also a great platform for potential investors to seek profitable agricultural opportunities as well as encourage agricultural organizations to participate and promote their products and services in order to develop a local and regional customer base.
