QCC Launches 3 New E-services for Emirates Metrology Institute admin October 10, 2018

In line with Abu Dhabi’s plans to contribute to digital transformation in users’ services, Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), the entity [responsible for developing the quality infrastructure in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has facilitated the process of applying for Emirates Metrology Institute e-services with the launch of its easy-to-use Jawdah website.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Dr. Helal Humaid Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of QCC, said: “This initiative aims to raise the profile of the state in competitive digital indicators at regional and global levels by facilitating procedures for users. These efforts reflect our leading role in the development of the quality infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. In line with contributing to achieving the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Plan in building a competitive economy, the Emirates Metrology Institute provides a national reference in the field of the science of measurement and its various applications, providing a range of competitive advantages to state industries which ensure compliance with the International Committee of Weights and Measures (CIPM) requirements and therefore provides a competitive advantage to state industries.”

His Excellency added, “Users can apply for calibration, training, and technical consultancy services which fall within the remit of the Emirates Institute of Metrology. Calibration services aim to provide standardized settings for measuring devices and issue calibration certificates that ensure serial traceability through national measurement standards maintained by the Emirates Institute of Metrology. QCC’s training and technical consultancy services include a range of services that help both government and private sectors establish systems of measurements and provide appropriate solutions.” These services are now available via the Jawdah website: www.jawdah.qcc.abudhabi.ae

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council was established in 2009 with the objective of raising the quality of the emirate’s exports and locally traded products while protecting the interests of consumers and supporting the UAE’s competitive economy. QCC empowers regulators to establish and implement product safety, metrology and conformity schemes throughout the emirate. The Council also sets necessary guidelines and benchmarks to verify that products manufactured and traded in Abu Dhabi conform to the highest quality standards.
