The programme may provide coverage to sellers against claims, chargebacks or reversals on eligible sales in two cases, subject to the relevant terms and conditions set out in PayPal Legal Agreements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Unauthorised transactions \u2013 When a buyer claims that they never authorised the payment for the purchase&nbsp;\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Item Not Received \u2013 When a buyer claims that he did not receive the good or service purchased<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The service is now available across the United Arab Emirates and seeks to empower business owners in the region as they grow and expand their eCommerce activity.&nbsp; The launch of the service comes at an ideal time, as African business owners can take advantage of the festive shopping season to sell more goods and services online, with the peace of mind that their shopping transactions are protected at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe UAE is making immense strides in technology and eCommerce, demonstrated by the recent high-profile launches of eCommerce sites such as Noon.com and Ounass. However, many smaller merchants are still unsure of the risks associated with selling goods and services online. The PayPal Seller Protection Programme allows merchants to trade online with greater confidence, empowering them to capitalize on the increasing demand for online purchasing in the region,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong>Efi Dahan, General Manager, Russia, Middle East and Africa.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PayPal\u2019s Global Cross-Border Research 2016 report predicted that online spending in the UAE will reach AED 33 billion by 2018, with almost half (46%) of the UAE online shoppers stating that they shopped online from websites in another country in 2016 The increase in online spending is also forecasted to continue, with almost half of online adults surveyed (48%) saying they will increase their online spending in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PayPal\u2019s Seller Protection Programme covers both tangible and intangible goods. Intangible goods include services such as flights and accommodation for travel, tickets to concerts or events, and professional services like graphic design, photography or business consulting. The programme helps protect sellers with services such as enhanced security, 24\/7 monitoring, merchant fraud prevention, dispute resolution and support for selling around the globe in 25 currencies and 200 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt PayPal, when we approach online shopping, we don\u2019t just look at the point of purchase.
