As the Official Logistics Partner of Expo 2020, UPS is expanding its onsite fleet with electrically-assisted cycles (eCycles). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than a century later, the company is getting back to its roots \u2013 bikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In April, the company\u2019s newly updated Fernhay eQuad<\/a>, a four-wheeled e-assist quadricycle, arrived at Dubai International Airport to be used for demonstration and training at Expo 2020. UPS will use several of these eQuads and its three-wheeled Rytle eBikes to serve the logistics needs of participating countries and visitors during the six-month event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUPS is bringing best practices to Expo 2020 and we\u2019re excited to provide logistics deliveries onsite with eCycles during the event,\u201d said Alan Williams, UPS vice president for Expo 2020 Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These new vehicles build on UPS\u2019s growing fleet of sustainable delivery solutions that improve air quality, decrease congestion and reduce emissions. They\u2019re also closely aligned with the country\u2019s UAE Circular Economy Policy 2021-2031<\/a> and the UAE Green Agenda 2030<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe look forward to continuing to identify more sustainable, productive and effective operations in logistics, during and after the expo,\u201d Alan said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n These eCycles are ideal for navigating dense, highly trafficked areas. Trained riders will operate between the five UPS customer counters, country pavilions and onsite warehouse to deliver packages, documents and goods for replenishment.
