In 2023, end-user spending is expected to reach nearly $600 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCloud is the powerhouse that drives today\u2019s digital organizations,\u201d said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/analyst\/53485\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sid Nag<\/a>, research vice president at Gartner. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/information-technology\/insights\/leadership-vision-for-cios?utm_medium=press-release&utm_campaign=RM_GB_2022_ITCIO_NPP_PR1_LEADERSHIPVIS&utm_term=ebook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CIOs<\/a>\u00a0are beyond the era of irrational exuberance of procuring cloud services and are being thoughtful in their choice of public cloud providers to drive specific, desired business and technology outcomes in their digital transformation journey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) is forecast to experience the highest end-user spending growth in 2022 at 30.6%, followed by desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) at 26.6% and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) at 26.1% (see Table 1). The new reality of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/insights\/future-of-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hybrid work<\/a>\u00a0is prompting organizations to move away from powering their workforce with traditional client computing solutions, such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2022-04-11-gartner-says-worldwide-pc-shipments-declined-7-percent-in-first-quarter-of-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">desktops<\/a>\u00a0and other physical in-office tools, and toward DaaS, which is driving spending to reach $2.6 billion in 2022. Demand for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2021-10-18-gartner-identifies-the-top-strategic-technology-trends-for-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cloud-native<\/a>\u00a0capabilities by end-users accounts for PaaS growing to $109.6 billion in spending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table 1. Gartner expects steady velocity within this segment as enterprises take multiple routes to market with SaaS, for example via cloud marketplaces, and continue to break up larger, monolithic applications into\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2021-10-18-gartner-survey-of-over-2000-cios-reveals-the-need-for-enterprises-to-embrace-business-composability-in-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">composable parts<\/a>\u00a0for more efficient DevOps processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In MENA, end-user spending on public cloud will total $5.8 billion in 2022, growing 18.8% from 2021. Cloud system infrastructure services (IaaS) is forecast to record the highest growth in 2022 (39%), followed by cloud application infrastructure services (PaaS). Cloud application services (SaaS) is forecast to be the highest spending vertical for end-users in MENA in 2022 (See Table 2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table 1.
