Artificial Intelligence in the classroom has been a polarizing topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Notre Dame Professor John Behrens said, education is always changing to keep up with trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“You know, we say that the goalposts have moved in business, how people are doing their business, how they’re doing marketing, how they’re doing communication, how they’re even writing computer code, all that is changing in the business world. And the universities are following very closely behind.” said John Behrens – Notre Dame Professor on AI.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Behrens believes AI can be a great asset in the classroom, if used correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He even teaches a class called Generative AI in the Wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We teach students what’s happening in society, and give them the skills to evaluate and use these tools. As the world changes, not just here’s, here’s some specific techniques. But here’s how the world’s changing, and here’s how you need to understand the evolution.” said John Behrens – Notre Dame Professor on AI.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Artificial Intelligence experts said, some jobs could be absorbed by AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But in many cases, there is no replacing the human mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AI expert and author Thomas Fellows said, there’s a benefit to recognizing the changes happening in different industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“And also integrative complexity, which means being able to look at situations from multiple sides divergent thinking, that’s what’s going to be needed in the workplace going forward. Because chat GPT and AI will take away jobs that are that just require convergent thinking.” said Thomas Fellows, AI expert and author.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
