Some of the best experts and specialists from the biggest local and international companies working in energy, water, technology, sustainability and environment participated in the seminars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seminars were part of the 21st Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2019). DEWA organised the exhibition under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA; from October 21-23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. WETEX 2019 was held under the umbrella of the sixth Green Week and coincided with the 4th Dubai Solar Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDEWA organises innovative and constructive interactive events that enhance Dubai&#8217;s position in shaping the future of energy. WETEX attracts the finest speakers, experts, specialists, solution providers, investors, decision-makers and customers from both public and private sectors from the region and the world. This supports Dubai&#8217;s transformation into a global hub for clean energy and green economy, to ensure a bright future for generations to come,\u201d added Al Tayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The First Day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening day of WETEX 2019 featured 8 sessions. The first session was titled \u2018Optimising Power Plants with AI, featured the participation of Ziad al-Sati from Siemens. This was followed by the sessions \u2018Secure Your Future in Water with ABB, Today\u2019 by Ahmed Radwan of the Swiss group ABB; \u2018The Future of Data-driven Utilities\u2019 featuring Honeywell\u2019s Ali Mouslmani; \u2018Renewable Energy\u2019 featuring Javier Carvajal of ACWA Power; \u2018SEL Microgrid Control Systems\u2019 by S. Rajkumar from SEL; and \u2018Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040\u2019 with the participation of Andrea Di Gregorio of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality. The first day concluded with two sessions titled \u2018Dell Technologies &#8211; Best Practices in Tools and Systems for Energy Efficiency and Smart Metering\u2019 presented by Hani Khalaf, and the \u2018Role of Data Enabled Services in Energy Optimisation\u2019 by Jovin Matthew of Johnson Controls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second day featured 11 discussion sessions, with \u2018Future Energy System: Clean and Sustainable\u2019 by Stefan Diezinger of Siemens. This was followed by \u2018Carbon Capture and Utilisation in Seawater Desalination\u2019 by Thomas Altmann of ACWA Power; \u2018Key Drivers for Cheap Solar Cells Progression\u2019 by Dr. Ibraheem Al Mansouri from Masdar; and \u2018Dubai Silicon Oasis\u2019 Sustainable Journey by Utilising Emerging Technologies\u2019 featuring M. Subramanian, Ameer A. Manyar and Bijumon Nair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fifth session was titled \u2018ENOC Retail Compact Station\u2019 with the participation of Marwa Abdulla from ENOC; and the sixth was on \u2018Innovative FRP Solutions for Water Transmission and Distribution Networks\u2019 by Hassan Darwich from Gulf Eternit. The session \u2018Effective Implementation of AI and Advanced Analytics at DEWA\u2019 with Adel Altamimi will follow. After that, \u2018Active Network Management\u2019 with Mohamed Afani of Lucy Electric, and \u2018Revolutionising Sustainability by Utilising Energy Modeling &amp; BIM\u2019 with Mina Metry of AEC took place respectively. The second day concluded with a session entitled \u2018Battery Energy Storage System and its Application for Grid Stability\u2019 with Harshitha Kumar of L&amp;T; and \u2018Technical Research on the EHV Cable Integrated System and Its Applications\u2019 with the participation of Ma Lanjie from TBEA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third and final day included 11 panel discussions. The session \u2018Efficiency, Sustainability and Energy Conservation\u2019 featured David Ungar of Acwa Power, while \u2018Digitalisation of Energy Grids\u2019 saw the participation of Kuldeep Tickoo of Siemens. \u2018Smart Energy Solutions\u2019 by Ibrahim Amin and Pradeep Kumar Singh of Etihad ESCO was next, followed by sessions entitled \u2018Power Transformers of the Future\u2019 by Andrew Collier of ABB; \u2018Deep Water Well Construction for Water Resources\u2019 by Sahin Atmaca from ZETAS; and \u2018Environment-Friendly Lead Sheath Alternative for Cables\u2019 featuring Mohamad El Chmouri of Riyadh Cables Group Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seventh session was entitled \u2018What is Next in MV Switchgears?\u2019 by Basil Al Mabrouk of Alfanar, followed by \u2018Effect of Ever Increased Usage of LED Lighting Load on Cast Resin Transformers\u2019 by participation Suleyman Demirakaya from Emirates Transformer &amp; Switchgear.
