With AWS recently launching its first AWS Region in the Middle East in July 2019, including three Availability Zones located in Bahrain, the opening of the data center cluster brings new opportunities for organizations in the region to leverage cloud technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe recent launch of AWS\u2019 new data center cluster in Bahrain has generated a lot of excitement within the burgeoning cloud market to drive new digital business models in Bahrain and the Middle East,\u201d said Bilal Baig, Technical Director GCC, Trend Micro, which is an AWS Advanced Technology Partner and AWS Security Complacency Partner to support secure AWS-hosted applications and servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Bahrain continues to see an increasing number and variety of cyber-threats against individuals and organizations. As organizations in Bahrain and the Middle East increasingly move to the public cloud, this could also expand their cyber-threat landscape. As a result, regional organizations are investing in their cloud cybersecurity. Middle East and North Africa cloud-based cybersecurity spend growing by 108 percent year-over-year to USD 9 billion in 2019, according to a recent report from Gartner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt the AWS Summit Bahrain, we will raise awareness on the best practices for Bahrain and Middle East enterprises optimizing cybersecurity in the cloud,\u201d added Bilal Baig. \u201cEnterprises from Bahrain and the Middle East can gain the knowledge to keep their cloud-based IT infrastructure secure as they move to take advantage of AWS\u2019 new data centers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trend Micro will be available for media interviews at the AWS Summit Bahrain on Sunday, 15 September at The Gulf Hotel.
