SAP SE<\/a>\u00a0(NYSE: SAP) today announced that\u00a0SAP Ariba solutions<\/a>\u00a0has helped Middle East agribusiness Al Dahra save 10 percent to 15 in procurement, while helping the region avoid a potential food shortage during the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middle East and North Africa region is among the world\u2019s largest food importers, according to a\u00a0recent report<\/a>\u00a0by the Brookings Institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past two years, Al Dahra has doubled its workforce from 2,500 to more than 5,000 employees and now operates in 15 countries across four continents. As part of its digital transformation roadmap, Al Dahra digitalized its end-to-end procurement processes with SAP Ariba solutions, increasing cost savings, better managing categories, and enhancing compliance and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With access to\u00a0Ariba Network<\/a>, the world\u2019s largest digital business network connecting more than 5 million companies, Al Dahra can tap into new suppliers and host competitive e-auctions, RFQs and RFPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAl Dahra\u2019s digital transformation is streamlining its source to pay process, helping the company discover new sources of supply and strengthen its relationships with existing preferred suppliers,\u201d said Carlos Mercuriali, senior vice president and general manager of\u00a0SAP Intelligent Spend Management, EMEA South. \u201cAs a result, Al Dahra has achieved significant cost savings, increased its spend under management and delivered value to shareholders \u2013 and more importantly, kept communities fed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digitalization has helped Al Dahra ensure proper governance for sourcing and procurement, maintain a seamless payment process, and manage recurring purchase items through catalogues. Moving forward, the company is exploring further SAP solutions for invoicing, supplier management and performance, and analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
